Earth's Heartbeat

1,605 earthquakes in 7 days, rendered as a seismic spiral

Time spirals outward from the center: 7 days of Earth trembling, one full rotation per day. Each point is a quake. Size is magnitude. Position on the spiral is when it happened. Distance from center is which day.

Look for the clusters. The daily rhythm is real: tidal forces from the Moon and Sun create subtle patterns in when the Earth breaks. The deep quakes (500+ km down) trace subducting plates diving into the mantle. The shallow ones are where we live, and where we feel it.

The Earth never stops shaking. We just don't notice.
This is one week of its pulse.
